Located in Windham New Hampshire, the Windham Rail Trail Alliance, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is dedicated to the development and promotion of this scenic trail. This organization was formed by a group of Windham citizens who have the vision and the help of tremendous supporters dedicated to the rehabilitation and development of the 4.1 mile section of the Rockingham Recreational Trail in Windham as a paved rail trail. The Windham Trail is a component of the "Salem to Concord Bike-Ped" path as recommended by the State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, with engineering and development consistent with the resulting Feasibility Study document.
>>>>> IMPORTANT NOTICE June 17, 2010 <<<<<Windham Depot Renovation Project Underway
We are pleased to announce that the long anticipated Depot Improvement Project is well underway!
Users of the Trail are advised that during the project construction period, which is anticipated to continue until mid-July, access to the Depot parking area is prohibited. This is a strict requirement for AARA funded projects. Unfortunately we request that users refrain from walking on the site until announced as open. Pedestrian/cyclist Trail users
will be diverted around the parking area, to allow uninterrupted passage from
the Windham section to the Derry Trail. We offer our apologies in advance
for any inconvenience this may cause, but are confident that the end result of
this disruption will be well-appreciated by all visitors to the Depot and the
Trail. Click HERE to see project details.
