Windham Depot Rehabilitation Project

Another key project that will add to the success of the trail is the rehabilitation of the historic Windham Depot district. Voted by the citizens of Windham as a Historic District in 2003, the Board of Selectmen chartered the Depot Advisory Committee to address the status of the area and to present recommendations for future use.

DuBois and King of Nashua, has been awarded the architectural engineering and project management contract in December 2009. Hawkins Construction has been awarded the Prime Contract. We plan for Phase I construction, (stabilization) to start on  March 15, 2010 and finish in June 2010.

NOTICE   June 1, 2010

We are pleased to announce that the long anticipated Depot Improvement Project is well underway!

Users of the Trail are advised that during the project construction period, which is anticipated to continue until mid-July, access to the Depot parking area will be prohibited. This is a strict requirement for AARA funded projects. Unfortunately we request that users refrain from walking on the site until announced as open.

Although the parking lot is complete, the site is still considered an AARA construction site and access prohibited.

Pedestrian/cyclist Trail users will be diverted around the parking area, to allow uninterrupted passage from the Windham section to the Derry Trail. We offer our apologies in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, but are confident that the end result of this disruption will be well-appreciated by all visitors to the Depot and the Trail.
